The Odyssey of China's Imperial Art Treasures traces the 3,000 history of the emperor's imperial collection, from the Bronze Age to the present. The tortuous history of these treasures involves a succession of dynasties, invasion and conquest, and civil war, resulting in valiant attempts to rescue and preserve the collection. Throughout history, different Chinese regimes used the imperial collection to bolster their own political legitimacy, domestically and internationally.
The narrative follows the gradual formation of the Peking Palace Museum in 1925, its hasty fragmentation as large parts of the collection were moved perilously over long distances to escape wartime destruction, and finally its formal division into what are today two Palace Museums - one in Beijing, the other in Taipei. Enlivened by the personalities of those who cared for the collection, this textured account of the imperial treasures highlights magnificent artworks and their arduous transit through politics, war, and diplomatic reconciliations.
Over the years, control of the collections has been fiercely contested, from early dynasties through Mongol and Japanese invaders to Nationalist and Communist rivals - a saga that continues today. This first book-length investigation of the imperial collections will be of great interest to China scholars, historians, and Chinese art specialists. Its tales of palace intrigue will fascinate a wide variety of readers.

Will this cause a decline of Wealth for Johor Bahru?
On Jan 7th 2010, there was an article which I came across, titled “No Petrol Subsidy for Non-Citizens From May 1”. The article’s emphasis is just as the title, the increase in price of petrol for non-citizens. Johor Bahru has been visited by many Singaporeans who went there to purchase cheap petrol and make some round of shopping in the town
With this new regulation in place, it might just mean that Singaporeans that are looking for cheap petrol, may not go over to Johor Bahru anymore. With this group of buyers gone, Malaysia would see quite a great drop in number of people who find no reason to go shopping in Johor again .
This justify a re-consideration by the Minister , as johor will feel the pinch .
When the new Johor Custom was opened early last year , there was a big divert of traffic in the city , and former shops which were bustling with good business ,suddenly see an out flow of their turnover ,as traffic was divert direct to Johor town ,giving the city a miss . Business came down , and now they will be affected twice , but this time almost the whole town will be affected .
On top of that, the subsidy of the petrol is going to be sub-categorised throughout the Country . This means that not all Malaysians are getting their petrol subsidy also . Only those who are in the lower income range, and can afford cars with only small capacity engines will not be affected much .
On the foreigners end, there really still is not much lost for them as well , especially for Singaporean with their Strong dollar .
Going by the exchange rates, overall, prices of oil are still cheaper in Malaysia, in comparison to prices in Singapore. Therefore, the decline in wealth for which Johor will face will be imminent at the start. However, in longer terms, Johor will still be in good wealth as it is now.
Maybe the new Integrated Resorts ,opening in Singapore soon will also attract some tourist from other countries whom visit Singapore to cross the borders to get their Passport Chopped with the Malaysia Immigration chop , then maybe visit Maybe Iskandar , or visit the city to boost some shopping sales , left-out by those whom not happy with the new Petrol prices.

I have just recently made a recent trip to Hong Kong. It is a really wonderful place. The city is well developed and is continuing to grow financially stronger and bigger both economic and structural terms. As of October 2007 Hong Kong's stock exchange has been the 6th largest in the world, with around US$3 trillion worth of capitalisation. With the same area of land, about 1100 square km, Hong Kong has a really remarkably accomplished as the leading Financial Center in Asia .
.jpg)
Since many years ago , people believe Hong Kong’s success has been attained due to it’s good Feng Shui and truly some places in Hongkong , the Feng Shui’s Qi is typically been able to contribute good wealth
A good example is the God of Wealth who is known for bring wealth and joy to the world. At Hongkong’s Repulse Bay, the statue of the God of Wealth stands there. Repulse Bay is now one of the most expensive housing areas, with some property prices as high as US$2500 per square feet. Several millionaires, such as , Sir Run Run Shaw ,Mr Li Ka Shing , Mr En Tong Sween own properties and houses around Repulse Bay. It was said that, the statues of the various Gods in the area brought such wealth and prosperity to fellow residents in the area also .
There is a special ritual in which people perform, to gain the blessing of wealth from the statue of the god of wealth. It was said that people should rub his forehead, hands and belt, after which they need to keep it in their pockets to gain such blessings.

The Laughing Buddha
The Laughing Buddha, a.k.a Hotei or the Fat Buddha, is famous for his for his feature and cheerful character. He symbolizes happiness and good luck. Many people believe that rubbing his belly will bring them wealth, prosperity and good luck.
He is seen carrying a sack, in which poeple believe it contain 'goodies' like sweets, food and rice plants. The sack would have a symbol of wealth on it.
Also in Feng Shui, it is believe that he is a symbol for wealth. He must not be place on floors but on elvated areas to show a form of respect and that he must be placed in the direction of one's personal wealth direction.
